The Middle East and Central Asia are located where continents of Asia， Africa and Europe meet. This key location made the region an important crossroad of trade goods and ideas. Large parts of the Middle East and Central Asia are very dry and deserts are found throughout much of the area. People who live in regions with very little rain and snow are concentrated in oasis and river valleys where they can find water.
