The world of astronomy is in an uproar, about the possibility of a runaway universe. Long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a star is about to die, but not quietly. It will go out in a blaze of glory, a thermonuclear blast more powerful than five trillion trillion atomic bombs — a supernova. Billions of years later, a tiny fraction of that light hurtles toward a small planet where a band of Earthlings eagerly awaits its arrival.
