Basic Medicine:Kids Medicine(7)
Anyone raising children can tell you that they can be very different from grownups. They have their own feelings, their own issues, their own views on life, but there are some things they do have in common with adults and one of these is the ability to feel pain. But some say the medical community has been slow to recognize and manage children's pain because many doctors have been taught that children and infants in particular don't. If their pain isn't treated properly following those procedures, children can take longer to heal and they run a higher risk of suffering from adverse side effects. That's why more and more health care professionals are engaging in a battle against pain.
