Our nervous system has two main parts. The first——the central nervous system——interprets information and coordinates responses. The second part is the peripheral nervous system——an all-body network that flashes data to the brain and from the brain. Two physicians' first describe the complex structure of the central nervous system——the Spaniard Ramon Y. Canal and the Italian Camilla Gorge. For this insight, they share the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
