Country air is supposed to be a welcome relief from city smog and pollution. But for millions of allergy sufferers like me these open fields spell misery. Tree and grass pollen, animal dander and insect stings are just a few of the common allergens to be found here. While most of them are simply a nuisance, some allergens can trigger fatal allergic reactions and asthma attacks. 8% of the world's population have allergies. Another 12% have the potential to develop them. Allergies are inherited.
