Environment:Water Supply in Canada
Water is all around us, covering 80 % of the Earth's surface. 97% of the water on earth is salt water, and 2% is trapped in the polar ice caps and glaciers, leaving only 1% of all the water on earth available as fresh water. It's in the soil feeding the plants. Canadians are the world's second largest users of water in the world. The average daily domestic water use per person is 350 litres.
