The first people to come to Australia were the aboriginal people， as long as 60，000 years ago. In the 1600s， Dutch sailors came looking for new trade routes to Asia. All around Australia's coastline are islands named after Dutch explorers. Then in 1788， Captain Arthur Philip， chose to establish the new colony in Sydney Cove， and the European invasion of Australia had begun. After that， the gold fever， the Anzac， the roaring twenties， are all part of the story of Australia， the history of Australia.
