In 1890, the Chancellor of German Empire Otto von Bismarck had predicted that the next major war in Europe would be caused by some damn foolish thing in Balkans. A quarter of century later, that was exactly what happened. On 28th of June, 1914, assassins shot dead the Archduke Francis Ferdinand, crown prince of the Austria-Hungarian Empire at the Serbian city of Sarajevo in the Balkans. Within five weeks, the Sarajevo incident had mobilized itself into World War.
