History:The Empire State Building
The Empire State Building is one of the hallmarks of New York and has often been regarded as the eighth wonder of the world. 381 metres high, for nearly half a century it was the tallest structure on Earth. With 102 floors, it towers over the skyline of Manhattan. The weight of the Empire State Building is borne by a total of 210 pillars: a seemingly unshakeable steel bulwark.
