Bioscience:Reading the Code of Life
DNA, composed of four nucleotides, holds the code for making proteins — the components of our cells that perform the work and provide the cell structure. DNA does this in our cells and, in fact, in every other living cell, whether it is a bacterium, a bear or a begonia. DNA is just a code by itself. In order for cells to function, the DNA information has to be transcribed and translated. In this program, we are going to decode the code of life and examine microbial genetics, the source for all biological information, all the information for life is contained within every cell inside DNA molecules.
