Bioscience:Wild Moves — Running
Animals can run at a variety of different speeds because they use different gaits. Now to move every animal has to expend hard won energy, so it would seem sensible that when you do move you move as efficiently as possible. Why then don’t all land animals look the same,or move in the same way? Do the largest only ever walk, whilst others run? Are there limits to using two or four legs? In this program, scientists will uncover the secrets that lie behind how animals move for us.
