Geoscience:Heating the Earth
When you feel the sun is broiling your skin, you probably think the sun is heating you directly. But it might come to a surprise to learn that it is the light from the sun and not its heat that warms you boday. The sun pours out energy in three forms: short violet waves, visible light waves and long infrared waves. The short violet waves and infrared waves are either never reached the earth surface at all or reflected by cloud. Then what remains to strive the earth, are the visible light waves?
