One of Germany's few remaining wildernesses， the last remains of the one-time "Alemannic Jungle". Climbing plants wind among the trees and shrubs. This is the original home of the hop. The breeze over the meadows wafts the mild aroma of the hops across the grass and the water — an aroma which is used to good effect in brewing beer. But that'a a long story. The world's largest hop-growing area is the Hallertau region of Bavaria in southem Germany.
