Geoscience:Iceberg Patrol
The collision of the fabulouos Titanic with an iceberg caused the death of over 1,500 people in the year of 1912. Since then the International Ice Patrol was created to survey and map the presence and movements of icebergs around Newfoundland. According to the survey of the International Ice Patrol, nearly 90% of Canadian icebergs come from the coasts of Greenland, whose migration depends on the current. The icebergs are also great threat to the oil platforms, that's why people need to observe them. Newfoundland has become a major tourist attraction that brings thousands of tourists to the region since the film "Titanic" came out.
