Bioscience:Microworlds — Secrets of Crickets' Wings
The fields and mountains ring with the calls of singing insects. Here's one of the songsters. It's an emma field cricket, a relatively large species of cricket with a body about two and a half centimetres long. This is a female emma field cricket. It's only the male crickets that chirp. The females remain mute. Watch carefully how the cricket makes its chirping sound.
