Mathematics:Proportions: The Shrinking and Stretching Machine
Usually we judge the sizes of objects by comparing them to familiar surroundings. But things are not always as they seem. The plain proportional sense of size can be fun, too. Many true models seem real as long as the sizes of objects are in the same ratio to each other as they are in real life. Changing all dimensions by the same factor keeps things in proportion. If you want a similar shape, you change all the dimensions by the same scale factor to keep things in proportion.
