50 sailors and scientists from the universities of Kiel and Bremen are exploring the ocean bed close to the coast， where the earth's tectonic plates are colliding. They are hoping for new insights into processes on the ocean floor， for example， the origins of earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. And we also have a chance to find out what life is like on a research vessel — in a confined space， with few if any breaks from work.
