Physics:Radioisotopes at Work
The elements that make up our world can exist in different forms called isotopes. Different isotopes of the same element occupy the "same place" on the periodic table because they have the same number of protons. Most isotopes found in nature are stable. In others, however, the arrangement of protons and neutrons is unstable. These are known as radioisotopes. There are many ways that radioisotopes are used in our everyday lives.
