Environment:The Pond - Community Ecology in Action

The pool is an eco-community in dynamic balance. There are both zoetic and abiotic materials interacting with each other in the pool, forming a stable entironment. Millions of microorganisms are the foundation of the food chain, supporting the other more complex living creatures. At the top of the food chain are hundreds of carnivores. Although small, the pool is a fairly diverse ecosystem.
