Environment:Coastal Dunes: Ecology and Rehabilitation

Coastal dune ecosystems are complex environments. They support a vast array of life from tiny microbes to dense rainforests， and are tightly interdependent systems. Sand dunes are naturally fluctuating ecosystems， but are also highly vulnerable to human-induced change. In many places， human activity has impacted heavily on dune ecology. Dunes have been left bare and unstable， and our coastline is vulnerable to storm damage.
