Taipei 101 is a commercial office tower of superlatives. An impressive 508 metres high, it cost one and a half billion dollars to build. The name 101 comes from its one hundred and one stories. The tower is intended to symbolize the economic power of Taiwan. Unique not only because of its height and its unmistakeable shape, but above all because of its brave response to the challenges of Nature.
