Material Chemistry:Nobel — The Man
Alfred Bernhard Nobel was the world's most famous Swede, founder of the world's most famous prize. Yet were it not for his famous conscience, this chemist, engineer and industialist, would never have bequeathed the Nobel Prize, for Alfred Nobel is the inventor of dynamite. And so dismayed is he at its use in warfare that he determines to make amends. His Nobel Prizes are conferred on "those who, in the preceding year, shall have conferred the greatest benefit to mankind".
