Going places in the future figures to be quite an adventure. Imaging travelling from Los Angeles to Tokyo on a roller coaster from space. Sound incredible? It should be. Last century alone advances in transportation technology took us from a brisk gallop to the sound barrier and beyond. And there is no reason to believe that won't continue. In a not too distant future, we will be capable of travelling at astonishing speeds, both on land and in the air.
