Astronomy:Rocketman
Today, most astronauts have different credentials. These mission specialists have been SELECTed more for their scientific and academic backgrounds than for the dare and courage of the original test pilots. To be an astronaut needs to have the right stuff. Dan Burbank, a Coastguard Pilot, left the coastguard in 1996 to become an astronaut. After four years of training at NASA, he was SELECTed as one of seven for a vital mission to the new International Space Station under construction in orbit. The first concern for the astronauts is space sickness. Most astronauts experience nausea on their first day in zero gravity. Fortunately, astronaut Dan Burbank adjusted himself without any problem and accomplished the mission successfully with his colleagues.
