Transportation:Superships——Eirik Raude
The Eirik Raude, named after the Viking explorer Eirik, is a colossus of the offshore oil patch — the biggest semi-submersible oil drilling vessel in the world. It doesn't look much like a ship, but this vessel was built to sail out to the oil and gas reserves of the freezing North Atlantic and drill in waters more than three kilometres deep. It's a floating city on stilts with 120 men and women on board.
