Agriculture:Life on the Frontier
In 1996 the United Nations launched its convention to combat desertification — an initiative signed by over 100 countries. With international finance and cooperation, governments around the world have launched major planting and reclamation projects, clawing back thousands of acres of marginal land from the encroaching desert. Today desertification remains a huge global issue, but after years of neglect and underfunding, things are finally beginning to change. In this program, we'll look into the problem of desertification worldwide.
