When you exercise our bodies burn more fuel and heat up faster than during general day to day activities. To perform consistently and stay healthy, athletes need to put back into their bodies what exercise takes out. The basis for any nutritional plan is a balanced diet containing the five essential nutritional groups. They are water, carbohydrates, fat, protein and vitamins and minerals. And carbohydrates, fat and protein are the fuels that our bodies burn for energy.
