After our victories over sickness and hunger has come the far more dangerous plague of overpopulation. Since 1950s, the human population of the world has doubled to nearly 5.5 billion of people. At present birthrates, our numbers will double again to 10 billion by the middle of the next century. Many nations face famine and environmental collapse. Almost all have adopted some form of family planning, results have been mixed.
